Ok, so I have been playing dkong (US set 1) in MAME ver. .184, not sure if it is wolfmame or not, so I decided to make sure I had wolfmame for submissions. I installed wolfmame.208 on my laptop. Now when I play I get a message about not being dumped properly and the machine might not work correctly. Everything does appear to work great.

Question: Is there a way to remedy this issue? If not, does this affect my ability to submit scores?

I have had no issue recording .inp files or playing them back.

If I posted this in the wrong place, I apologize.

Strangely enough, there isn't really a sub-forum here that this fits into.

Perhaps you could copy the exact error message you are seeing. If everything works properly, it's probably not an issue anyway.

Did you copy the mame.ini file from the older MAME version to use with the new one? That's sometimes the cause of error messages that don't affect anything.

I actually did not. The only thing I did in the ini was to change nvram to nul.

I did copy the same bios files but those weren't for nintendo.

Game seems to run fine though.

Is it saying that you're missing a file called diag.bin? If so, you can just ignore that. It's supposedly some sort of diagnostics ROM that isn't dumped yet (though more likely, this ROM just doesn't exist). Regardless, the game functions perfectly fine without it, so don't worry about that message.
