I will not be able to play, I got the Barcade Williams tourney to get crushed in that day. Sounds like a great event though, I'm in for the next one.

Hey Dan, congratulations on the 12,400 Level 1-1 score!
I hadn't noticed it before; was it accomplished recently?
I remember it took me forever to finally break 12k on Level 1-1. And 13k is STILL laughing at me.

Stella I actually got the 12,400 a while ago and noticed it was in your sig so I figured why not.
I actually was on track to beat the 13,400 that was the high at the time I was doing it from Dean and Jeff but i got tagged by a damn wild barrel so i couldn't submit the score since I died :<
I got heavy into 1-1 for a little while. :)

Looking at the list of DK streamers and comparing those names to the registration list, excluding the verified million-point players, it's looking like this is actually a really good turnout.

Yeah, Daniel posted a pic of two machines side by side, presumably one for Kaayla, but I didn't want to assume anything.
I would like to see Youmee play as well, especially since His Royal Highness isn't invited and his machine will be unoccupied!
Some ladies in the tournament would be splendid.

I just updated the list. I've been slacking the last week.
We hit 30 players. Very cool.
I haven't played DK since the last rematch, and I don't know I'll have time to practice this week. Hopefully I can drop a 600k+ just to keep it respectable.....

I plan to visit the MGM Sports Book in Las Vegas, and politely ask the owners to stream all 30 channels on their HD big screens. After being escorted out by security, I'll probably hit the Bellagio Buffet.

Absolutely. I'm not competing, so I plan to watch as much as I can. As a final preparation, I'll have to make sure I'm "following" everyone on the list.
Vincent will probably also be there, as he enjoys shamelessly following me from channel to channel (although he will certainly claim that I'm the one stalking him). :)

Not exactly a replacement. Several of us share a rotating schedule, taking turns as Vincent's "adult supervision". He is a talented DK competitor, one of the very best, yet he can't resist being the occasional thorn in our collective side. The situation is similar to a youngster in the back seat of a car, who feels compelled to ask, "Are we there yet?" every 5 minutes.
Not to worry, Vincent. I'm just making this stuff up as I go along. :)

It took me a while to finally make a post. I let it slide until just before the event because I'm reasonably sure that anybody who both (1) reads my blog and (2) is actually a 250K+-capable player already knows about the tournament.
I don't think it will get us any new entrants, since the majority of the visitors to my blog are either Googlers checking out the high score list or following a link to the Eminem story (which gets linked a lot). The rest is you guys!
At any rate, there it is.

I will likely not be broadcasting any DK on Saturday, for two reasons:
1. I will be validating scores mostly during the day.
2. My DK machine has decided to give me trouble and randomly the picture gets scrambled :)
I will try to get at least one game in just for the rankings, but that depends if my machine holds out :)

Hah! I knew it was Phil, but I was in a hurry. I had to re-add about 7 people to my spread sheet. So I just started entering names based on the email list.

The start times (for Australia, not sure about the other places) is correct, however the date is the 19th (3/19/13 US Date Format) and not the 16th. I'm sure we all know when it starts though.
Thanks for pointing out the "twtich" errors, I'll change these on another forum where I posted links for Aussies to watch.

The rule about streaming only on twitch tv will keep me from playing if followed to the letter. I have a twitch account that is directly linked to my justin tv account but for whatever reason Jtv will not let me stream on Twitch. If you follow the address www.twitch.tv/vondummpenstein (http://www.twitch.tv/vondummpenstein) you'll be redirected to my Jtv stream. It used to be that I could control which site hosted my stream by switching the category setting in my user profile, but that doesn't work anymore and when I try it I'm told to start a new account at Twitch tv....accept that I have an account at twitch tv!? In fact, I can edit my Jtv account through Twitch, I just can't change which site hosts the stream anymore.
The rule specifically states "NO EXCEPTIONS", but I'm going to have to ignore this. There's nothing I can do shy of starting a brand new account that I would use only for the purposes of this tournament. I just wanted it known that I am aware of the conflict, and if it keeps me from being prize eligible, so be it.
