Title: What is your profession?
Post by: ebinsugewa on June 01, 2013, 07:21:41 am
I have an interest in sociology and I'm just curious about the demographics of people who go for records.

Like Steve Wiebe, I too am a teacher.

I've worked 2 full time jobs for the last 5+ years.  I work as a grocery store inventory manager in the morning, and own an insurance agency that I work the afternoons.  I have recently found out that I got a new job though, and will be starting on the grounds crew for our public schools to replace the other two jobs.

Imagine if you guys all got together to form your own business.

Great idea.  I propose we call our business "Kappa Industries", and we'll act primarily as a wholesale distributor of rage compilation videos.

I'd like a position with an impressive-sounding, but otherwise meaningless title, and no real responsibilities.  I've always wanted to interject questions like "What's the bottom line?" during conference calls, at seemingly random moments.  I also wish to periodically instruct the department admin to "cancel all my afternoon meetings", and then leave the building without further explanation.  That would be a nice perk.

The company cafeteria will have a Build-Your-Own-Burrito station, because Mitch will like that.

In addition to casual Fridays, "Lederhosen Tuesdays" has the potential to provide some entertainment value, at least until the novelty wears off.

At the moment, I can't think of any other critically important details.

I'm an interpreter. Professionally, of Sign Language, though I've volunteered some Spanish interpreting and aim to one day be qualified as an interpreter of Spanish and French.

I'm also a minister, Bible tutor and literature manager for my congregation- all volunteer stuff.

I received my first donation two weeks ago on twitch, so I guess that makes me a professional gamer, too ;)

I've been working for about 15 years as an art handler.  Most of that time has been running a woodshop constructing custom crates for artworks, as well as doing the packing and shipping.  I'm at a new company in the last 6 months or so, a smaller operation but the same basic thing.  Much of it is tedious but I've seen  a lot of cool and expensive works of art, as well as meeting the rich and famous.  It's also served to effectively turn me off from the art scene entirely lol.
