To be honest, I erased Ben Falls name at the last moment. It was either him or Tim, but because I decided to just go with people related to the Kong series, I couldn't not have Tim in because how he was screwed over by the King of Kong. No way I way I was going to screw over the first modern day Donkey Kong World record holder like the movie did.
As far as you Barra, it was the super clutch win in the $10,000 Galaga tournament that put you over the top. Ben Falls is great. Still the Popeye record holder, but he doesn't have any major tournament wins.
As far as Zerst, I decided to go with a Donkey Kong series theme this time around. Every single person I picked I think deserves the Hall of Fame. Zerst will eventually get his turn. No doubt about that.
In a barrel!
George, you really should be charging people for the right to submit CVGHOF candidates and the right to vote. Even at $125 a year you'd be giving them a 50% discount on IVGHOF pricing, similar benefits, and a more reputable group of inductees: http://www.ivghof.info/membershipdonatesponsor/ROFL ROFL ROFL
Rather than thinking how Ben Falls should have been among the list, who exactly should I have left out? I had seven slots, and each and everyone of the seven slots are well deserving in my mind. That's why I don't feel any real guilt leaving him out. The seven people I listed are ALL well deserving. And yes, so is Ben Falls. His time will come. :)
Is your personal HOF for DK-related games or for CAG in general? If it's the latter, I would have a hard time justifying putting someone in that's only good at 2 games. It's actually all classic games. I will eventually start putting in NES Tetris and Super Mario Bros(speedrun) players as well. Also, I feel I made a nod to an all around great player with Barra. Truth be told, there aren't too many all around great gamers. You have TiF, Ben Falls, and Zerstraung not in. But after that whose left? I already put in Dwayne Richards, Matt Hall, Martin Bedard, and Tom Votava. But when you look at the current tournaments it's always the same top 6 or so people.
But, your HOF, your call :)
All the bull-shittery aside, why didn't you include yourself?I actually had the highest Donkey Kong Junior score when I got 1,308,000. Marky beat my score the very next month(One of the few that forced Marky to play Donkey Kong Junior again. Kappa), but I was a Donkey Kong Junior champion at one time. 8)
Undisputed DK3 champ for over a decade. Had the #3 DK Junior score for a time and was #4 for 6 or 7 years or so. Still sitting at #7 but only 10k behind #3

One big reason I didn't include myself. Everyone included has at least a one million score on Donkey Kong. I'm pathetically weak at the hardest of the Donkey Kong games. You have the lowest Donkey Kong score I listed, but you also are great at Galaga, the second most competitive CAG game out there. Plus, you won the 10k tournament. Also, I've never had a top 15 finish in ANY major tournament. The Atari 2600 score is cool because it beat a removed Todd Rogers score, but the difficulty is WAY easier than the Arcade version. The only person that I have included that I might have a more impressive resume is Tim Sczerby, but he beat a 16 year old Donkey Kong record. He's the pioneer of the modern Donkey Kong scene.
And don't expect me to include myself anytime soon. I think that there are at least 6 Tetris players who are far worthier than me. I believe there are at least 6 Super Mario Bros. Speedrunners far more worthier than me. Than you have the greats in the CAG scene I haven't included yet. McCurdy, TiF, Ashman, Linderman, Falls, Zerstraung. Now we have some greats in the Galaga scene like Armando, Thompson, and Dorringtan. So yeah, by my count, there are at least 21 players in the classic video game scene that deserve a spot before me.
