Title: Congrats to Scott Cunningham on his first KS
Post by: WCopeland on July 23, 2014, 03:24:00 pm
He posted it in the score submissions thread but I figured I'd start a thread here for visibility.

Hey Jeremy, this can wait until next week.  Relax, sample some Japanese cuisine, take a nap, learn origami, prance around in a kimono, whatever.   ;)

I'll probably stream the replay later tonight or tomorrow, so Twitch can be added to the MARP and INP sources.

Congrats!

I would say congratulations, but I'm very disturbed, because I could swear that this already happened!

Are we all sure that Scott didn't killscreen before??

Well, I'll just try not to think about it and add him to the list.

I'm in the wrong fkn timeline again...

Are we all sure that Scott didn't killscreen before??

I'm reasonably certain.   ;)

You may be thinking of my recent PB (942,100 on 05/21/2014).  That game ended on Level 21-3.

That reminds me, it's time for another signature update.

Thanks again, everyone.

Well done Scott buddy. Definitely well deserved!!

Thank you, Andrew.  I'm predicting that either you, Craig (d3scride), or Daniel (dd0ck) will be next.

My forecasts, unlike my gameplay, are usually spot on.   8)

I'm honored to receive kudos from Sir Edward the Swift.

I never get tired of that title.   :)

I hope to stream the replay when it's convenient for the forum's music aficionados:  you, Steve Wagner, Phil, Ethan, Jeff Wolfe, Kristian, etc.  Jeremy too, although I doubt he wants to sit through it again.   <gasp>

Nice! I don't have most of those tracks in my mp3 stockpile otherwise, I'd recreate it. Some deep cuts in the mix there.

I plan to add "Phish - You Enjoy Myself (12/09/95 - Albany, NY)" to my main DK playlist.

From roughly 11:15 until the 26:00 mark, it's as good as it gets.

You'll probably condemn me for this next statement, but . . .

I want to edit a copy of that track (preserving the original), fading out just prior to the silent jam => vocal jam.  Honestly, I can do without both of them.

I'm also on the lookout for a stellar version of "Divided Sky".

EDIT:  On second thought, I'll keep the YEM silent jam because I like the section that immediately follows it, but that ending vocal jam has got to go.  Painful.

haha, yeah the YEM vocal "jam" can be irritating. Edit as you must...no judgement here  ;D

If you are looking for a ragin' phish jam to kong to, the Antelope from 4/3/98 is probably my all-time favorite live tune. It's complete madness towards the end. I think I have a soundboard kicking around somewhere.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTNcfc_FD4Y (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTNcfc_FD4Y)

I typically play at night once the family is in bed so I never really listen to tunes when I play. Also why I keep my machine sound pretty low.

Congrats on your first KS :)

Was expecting a full 2 hammer game from you but hey a first KS is always nice :)

Was expecting a full 2 hammer game from you

My goal was a 950,000 killscreen (top hammer only, trying to run the barrel boards semi-efficiently).

I ended up using the bottom hammer 5 times:

Level 07-5    Defensive purposes (early climbing fireball & wild barrel combo)
Level 21-5    Lame sacrifice with 2 lives in reserve (earned a massive 3500 points)
Level 21-5    Had to try again (not a sac; kept a spare man in case of a nasty 21-6)
Level 22-1    A no-brainer
Level 22-1    Ditto

The current target is 1,050,000 (double-hammer with limited grouping).

Ah I see 5 bottom hammers only. Ouch at the level 21-5 sacrifice  ROFL

1,050,000 sounds like a good plan. Will also play at this pace first and later this year for 1.1.

A good start has low priority for me right now as it slows things down for sure. Sometimes I need quite some time for a good start so no thanks I don't want to play a half year for my first 1M+ game haha
