I did in fact take the kit out of the blue cab today. This game was 100% TG legit. While I do believe that the kits will soon be legal, as of right now they are not.

It's amazing you all put up with me and actually tune into my streams when all I do is blare techno and bitch constantly. I've gone back and watched parts of my streams before and it's embarrassing how much of a whiner I am, but I just can't help it.
In fact, part of the reason I decided to slow things down in the back half of this game was because I was getting very frustrated with unproductive grouping sessions and I was tired of dealing with it and crying about it. On many a board it felt like long stretches of barrels were being totally uncooperative, and I get upset when even one barrel doesn't behave exactly as I'd like. The bad pies and bad rivets are expected. If you don't get a handful of bad pies and rivets in a game you are a total luck-sack. Bad barrel averages on the other hand, which this game had, are harder for me to live with. Luckily, with two men in reserve I was able to recognize the game as a "must complete for qualification or you're an idiot" game, and not let my frustrations completely melt me down.
The support I have received from this community has always been appreciated, but has long been undeserved. Now that I have purged the monkey from my back, I hope to be able to play better, looser, sexier, and continue to push the limits and earn your respect.

As I were reading this topic, I said at LEAST 50 times "Oh my god!".
Man... me and Hank were joking that someone would have the skills to beat me, but not have the skills to beat Hank... ironically, that happened! haha.
But man Ross that's amazing! You just sandwiched yourself between me and Hank (no homo). That game must've been a relief (and a disappointment at the same time for coming that close of the record... I think I'm the only one that can understand that feeling, haha).
I know you wanted to stop playing Donkey Kong (for understandable reasons), but I hope you changed your mind now with that score! I would enjoy going at the manhole soon and try beside you to kick Hank's ass! Kongrats mate!... but why did you end up so close of Hank lol? How dare you pull a Vincent Lemay? ;)

Remember he needed to submit a score in order to be in the top 12 in order to get his own machine at the Kong Off 3. Also it's not a World Record, and him holding that score hostage is probably not going to be that big of a deal. Now if he does get the World Record in the next couple of weeks that will be very interesting.

You know I have been thinking about it. Not only did Ross qualify for this years Kong Off, he also qualified for years 2014, 2015, and probably 2016 as well!

Well first huge congrats to Ross. Get that out of the way first. :D
Now Mitch looks like that isn't going to happen. He doesn't have to pay $60 to submit it so why would he not do it? This is a large part of the entire issue with the new TG setup and why a lot of people are handcuffed. I doubt anyone going to hold "hundreds" or "thousands" or arcade records anymore if its going to cost $6000 to have 100 records (if it cost $60+ for each one). If Dave M does manage to get back in the Top 12 he has to pay $60 to do it or travel across the country? I just feel that either everyone should pay or no one should pay. Can I ask Ken to watch my stream while I'm playing on my arcade machine and its free to submit then? Can't he just validate my game if its "live"? If not then I really don't think showing up at Richies or Ken's should be Carte Blanche for freebies. The only "freebies" should be events like the KO and other things like that if your trying to promote that atmosphere which does indeed make sense because that is where you want the people to come/support right?

Second would make him, well, second, and also qualify for the KO (his priority), but would not come with the numerous additional "complications" of a new world record.
I will develop this conspiracy theory further over the coming days.

Even if for him the submission would be absolutely free, and even if he did the score on an arcade machine, and even further, even if it wasn't even the WR, one could still intentially not submit a good score with the explicit purpose of representing an opinion on those matters.

I watched it and I do not think he was trying for 2nd place at all. He had to get some what lucky to get 2nd place at the end while he sacked his 2 men and he just didnt get enough points. If that fireball had gone up instead of stayed on the board at 21-5 he would have been REAL close if not there.

Bumped is bumped. If you are not in the top 12 on the day of the deadline you will have to follow whatever other ways are available to play. No one is grandfathered in until that day.
Also, no you cannot just have me watch you play online. There are certain locations that you can play and not have to pay submission fees because there is a local ref on hand or a sanctioned location with machines verified by competent professionals. I provide my game room and my expertise to anyone who wants to set a serious record for free because I love the hobby and the gamers. For the record, my two recent scores I paid for because I had to have a ref verify them and that took his time, so he was compensated. I paid at exactly the same rate as everyone else, and I'm not on here complaining about it. It was worth it to me. If its not worth it to you then submit to marp, find a location, or just be satisfied in your head that you did what you did.

Ken, how is the deadline going to work with "when the game is performed" and "when it actually gets up on the board?" Ross' game is TG verified but not on the board yet. At worst case, say I get a score Oct 23, next day air it to Stephen Boyer on the 24th, I still can't be guaranteed it'll be up and valid for the 25th. JUst trying to pick the best real date for the deadline considering mail and review stil needs to happen afterwards.

No Phish concerts for me this summer. The last time I saw them was 12/27/10, also in Worcester (a show you rated as below average, if I recall). However, I did catch Furthur twice in July (07/17 and 07/18 - Bank of America Pavilion - Boston, MA). I also attended a Steely Dan show 2 nights ago (09/25 - Wang Center - Boston, MA).
Lastly, thank you for the "Black Muddy Blog" recommendation. I've discovered some great stuff on that site.

Of course Ross is sandbagging. He's been posing as a poser for years to make money in the minor leagues. He finally put up a score just to safely qualify for the majors before KO3, but went for 2nd so he could still make a big score betting on himself as a dark horse at the live event. The disheveled appearance and rambling posts are just part of his very calculated public image.
