Title: 100 kill screeners one day? Poll
Post by: Xermon54 on June 26, 2013, 07:46:30 am
The number of "unofficial" kill screeners is now at like 55 people. The majority of people that started playing Donkey Kong seriously did reach a kill screen, so there's not a lot of people, right now, that hasn't still gotten a kill screen that play seriously (maybe there's 10-15 at the moment). But in a near (or far) future, do you think 100 people will be on the unofficial list of kill screeners?

I think one day yea there will be 100 or more, but being the rate is probably less than 10 per year, itll take at least 5 years before we reach 100 if I had to guess.

Sure, it will eventually happen.  As for when, it all depends on how long the current level of interest can be sustained.

If the unofficial list grows to 99, don't hold your breath waiting for me to close the deal.   ;)

I'm quite certain that 100 people will eventually kill-screen Donkey Kong. It's only a matter of time. I won't bother predicting, however, because I think there are far too many incalculable factors to take into account.

I'll help here soon. I'll have a kill screen I'd say here soon. But who knows. Lol.

I'll go with yes, but after 2016.

This community grows, but not very fast. Growth has accelerated slightly over the past year or so, but it's also true, in my opinion, that the year and a half or so between mid 2012 and the end of 2013 (the KO3) is "Peak Kong." Right now is the culmination of what King of Kong started. I don't see DK getting bigger from here though. The game is very close to being "maxed out", on several levels.

To get 40-50 new kill screeners between now and the end of 2016 would require more than one per month. At the rate things have been going, it might actually be close, but I'm still gonna go with later than 2016. Maybe significantly later than 2016, if interest tapers off.

(This of course assumes that there won't be some new, unexpected development that comes along and makes a bunch of people suddenly want to take up DK, but I can't imagine what that would be.)
