Ok has anyone else ever been on the pie factory stage and you get up with a fireball next to you and you were so close to death the program thinks you did die and gives you an extra man but takes it away as soon as you start your next barrel stage? I've had this happen a few times and I wish I was recording to show what I was talking about but I just made this name up. I'm sure their is another name for this but just thought it was cool. I forgot all about it.

apart of me thinks it has to do with the level never being complete that if it was I would have actually died on this stage.

Here's Dave's explanation:
Yeah, the extra man thing happens when you finish a board and technically die at the same time. A flag is set thinking you died, but before the program run the death routine, the finishing the level takes priority and you move on. But, since the death flag was set, on the next baord it thinks you died before, so the beginning of the board shows one extra man. Because the game like for it to look like Mario came from up top to appear on the board at the bottom after a death.

Awesome, then it's just I guess it was just the near death that made it happen. Not the level. Right on man.

Yeah I made a video of this bug a couple of years ago, actually before I repaired my monitor so it looks bad, but it shows the false death hit happening. I think Georges video starts after the death hit so it leaves you wondering how it happened.

Yeah this happened right when I got my can and I forgot all about it. I just assumed since I was so close to death by the near hit that it must have been from that. Pretty cool stuff. I was pissed back then because I figured twin galaxies would think that I had a hacked board when I recorded it. Lol
