Number 1 has already been talked about: Tech Support. Some, even me, were skeptical at first, but now many of us are really starting to want it. Maybe Christian can be the moderator. ;D
Number 2 is an idea I just had today for a "DK History" or "DK Milestones" or "Big, Big, Big Moments" forum. This forum would contain discussions, threads, and lists related to the progress of the competition over time.
The Kill Screen Timeline and the Million-Point Timeline would go here. Those aren't quite right for the High Score List forum, but to be honest, I feel like they deserve to be somewhere a little more prominent than Steve's List Forum, which is basically a gag forum. They feel awkward there.
I have some other ideas as well.
First, this is where we would make (and/or move) threads commemorating player achievements, such as breaking a million, or getting their first kill screen, or winning a Kong Off.
I'd also like to have a thread (or several) for older iterations of TG's DK scoreboards, so that we can actually look at how the scoreboard evolved over time. I have several as it is, but I'm sure if we pooled our resources we could track the changes pretty closely year-to-year since King of Kong.
At any rate, I DO think there's enough to work with for a dedicated subforum! I'm not sure what topic it would be nested under (maybe "High Scores"? Or maybe "Other Lists" could be "Other" and it could go there?), but we could talk about that. Or we could just ignore the idea altogether. :P

I second the notion. I'm always up for better organization, so long as it remains intuitive to find what you're looking for, and it merits distinction from everything else. Good idea, Chris!

Idea: the name could be "News And History", under the "General Discussion" topic, and it would serve the dual purpose of covering both news and history!

I wonder if Dustin would like the idea of moderating a technical support? I wonder if there is a way to like a comment like on facebook.

With this suggestion you're going to start having separate forums with 1 or 2 subforums in each one. at some point it crosses the line from organizational to bureaucratic.

But as it stands without breaking things out, it contains more posts than Advanced Donkey Kong Strategy!!!

haha, if we do do this id like to "break it down"" spot for sprites, music, code , artwork, manuals, technical desicussions (about boards, roms monitors, cabs, cab spec) just a general all in one stop for anything dk related
