I updated my 1-1 back jumps only score to 3800 points, as I found that I had highlighted it from a while ago. It's right at the beginning of the clip. The rest of the video is silly, as I don't even notice that I mess up grabbing the top hammer on 1-2 without doing an attempted 'back jump' (it really only has significance if you are doing it over barrels, which is why the challenge is only on 1-1). You're right Dave, it's pretty tempting and sometimes a tough decision to make, but it's kinda cool that a lot of the challenges kind of connect with each other in such a way that if you fail at getting the best score at one of them they can be abandoned for another. For example: bottom girder challenge->1-1 highscore -> 4 man challenge or normal game (or any of the 'highscore by level 'x' challenges').

And the other reason being how pretigious one run is over the other. Given 1-1 is still pretty up there to me I'd abandon another good run to try and get 14K on 1-1.

If I had to rank DK scores/challenges to how pretigeous. I'd probably have the list like this:

-DK total points (Hammer Allowed) : Of course this would have to be first
-DK total points (No Hammer)
-Best 1-1 (Yes, I still think 1-1 challenge is above the best lev 5 start)
-Best Level 5 start
-Best score by 2-3
-<everything else> (All of the other challenges of too unique to really put a value on it yet.

Mitch introduced me to the Wild Barrel Hack and I just scored 8000 points on a 3 man 1 bonus man game. I have a loooong way to go lol ! Love it though !

I don't really get into all of the little challenges, but I do some 1-1 every once in awhile. Another thing that I do for practice and to stay sharp is to go for highest score on a full level post L=5 using a save state on mame. I saw Ross going for a 70k level on his stream one time and I thought that was a pretty cool challenge. The best I have done is a low 69k level, but if I am able to actually finish a level by not dying or aborting due to a bad screen my average is usually 63k+. Also a plus for me is I find it much less frustrating than 1-1. haha

It would be extremely awesome if it were somehow possible to import threads from another forum into this one.

To be able to grab all of those classic DK threads from CAG and TG would be so epic.

Since CAG is the same forum software, it might actually be technically possible to do some MySQL voodoo and "graft" threads from there into here, but (just to begin with) you'd have to have access to both databases. The process would probably be really tedious and time-consuming.

I did one tonight that i thought was fun to try called the No Jump Challenge which is to complete a board without hitting the jump button once.  Obviously the elevators are impossible, but the other 3 are.  I cleared the rivet stage my first try and the pie factory my second attempt.  I tried the barrel boards, but that would take a lot of luck to complete.

I would love to see someone capture all the fireballs in the rivet holes and live. I've caught three but I know one of you can get them all

Something I thought of last night. It's a bit long but what I call the "Rivet Pyramid Challenge".

Basically the LAST rivet you get on each level is as follows.

Level 1 = Bottom Left
Level 2 = Bottom Right
Level 3 = 2nd from Bottom Left
Level 4 = 2nd from Bottom Right
Level 5 = 2nd from Top Left
Level 6 = 2nd from Top Right
Level 7 = Top Left
Level 8 = Top Right.

I haven't even attempted this past level 3 trying this but feel this could be one of the more difficult challenges as well as one of the longer ones.

Haha, nice Dan. I actually thought of a similar one the other day, but I think it is a lot harder: Always get the furthest rivet away next!
