Hammer drop

Any tips on how to drop the hammer on the pies?

My current technique leaves a little to be desired  ::)

1. Grab the hammer
2. Press all the buttons and swear like  <Allen>
3. Either:
a) Hammer doesn't drop
b) Hammer drops up in the air
4. Swear like  <Allen> again

You need to be on the right side of the conveyor, facing left, then hit right. Try to time it when the hammer is up and about to go down - the hammer should "drop" in the down position. The timing can be tough to get. If it drops in the up position, regrab (while making sure you aren't going to get pied or the conveyor is going to switch directions) and try again.
