Have never seen this before! Firefoxes STUCK for the entire round.

Not sure where to post this exactly so figured would set it here. This was crazy. A firefox spawned exactly on top of another and it took me a little while to find it. They then follow each other around the board step for step. Was kinda cool. I had to jump them at the end to beat the board with only 400 left on the timer!

Wow... honestly, this is amazing!

Not only they stayed on each other the WHOLE level (sometime, they stay on each other for a certain period of time, but the WHOLE level is extremely rare). But they also got on top of each other RIGHT when the fifth fireball appeared on the screen, seeing only four fireballs in the beginning. From beginning to the end, NEVER going appart from each other... I never thought that would happen one day, honestly. That's pretty awesome, Dan!

I don't understand how the fifth fireball respawned on top of a fireball at the beginning and got stuck with this fireball right away... this blows my mind.

They did it for me once on the pie factory!  :)

The beauty is, I have a savestate. Perhaps I'll stream it and highlight it...

I have never seen that on the rivets though.

Well, that was certainly interesting.  Much like you, Dan, it took me a little while to locate the pair that were stuck together. I watched the video a 2nd time (and a 3rd, and a 4th) in full screen mode to determine when the "identical twins" initially appeared.  It turns out they were the first 2 spawned on that board.

I hadn't seen that behavior before, not for the entire duration of a stage.  Another DK first.

I love how, to this day, stuff keeps popping up. That weird 100 point glitch on the barrels that Dean found a few weeks ago and now these glued-together rivet firefoxes.

Next thing you know somebody's going to figure out a way to throw the hammer!

Its weird, I had this happen about 3 days ago, so it's still in my archive, I'll highlight it. I've seen it before. It's almost like when barrels fall together they take on the same heartbeat. Mine were actually apart for a few seconds before they joined, but stayed there eversince

Yeah, I stand corrected.  Originally, I thought the first 2 spawned simultaneously.  Now I see that it was actually the 1st and 5th firefoxes.  I only had to watch it 7 or 8 times, AND have someone else point it out, to finally get it right.   ::)

I've seen this happen before but never for so long.  For me, usually this happens near the end of the board and I don't stick around to see how long they'll stay together.  Although I believe they will stick together indefinitely (or as long as the board will last).  This is definitely the longest I've ever seen. 

Any theories on why this happens?  I think the fireballs merge coincidentally and then somehow the 2 fireballs are using the same random numbers to generate their movements.

Two fireballs with the same behavior and the same position with respect to Mario can lock them together like this is my theory
