Title: First DK killscreen!
Post by: stv71 on July 22, 2014, 06:19:06 pm: Iâ€™ve been reading this forum for a while, and have been waiting until my first killscreen to make my first post. No more waiting, I finally got it done this past week!

In the killscreen game, I lost lives on 8-2 (fireballs got me in the pie factory), 12-4 (spring caught me going up the final ladder FailFish), and 16-4 (spring caught me going up the final ladder again FailFish FailFish). Needless to say, I was sweating those L16-21 elevator screens on my last man. I was pumped when I finished 21-4 â€“ three elevator screen deaths in a potential first killscreen game would have been brutal. After a few close calls on my last man, it was a relief to unplug that last rivet on 21-6.

Many thanks to Adam Barajas, owner of the Flipperspiel Wunderland (vegaspinball.com and facebook.com/vegaspinball), who keeps his DK machine working perfectly and posted the videos below to youtube. Adam unfortunately wasnâ€™t there for my killscreen game, but he received text updates and started blasting my game in progress out on twitter @adampinball when I was on level 18 - #KillScreen, nice call Adam! Thanks also to FW regulars Gil and Sean, who watched the stretch run of my killscreen game even after those ugly elevator screen deaths. And thanks to the members of this forum for all of the valuable information in posts, youtube videos, and streams on twitch!

Unfortunately, we forgot to restart a game on video to show that it is on 3-man setting. Prior to the killscreen game, I had recent PB games of 676,700 that ended on 17-6, and then 752,600 that ended on 19-2. The last 15 minutes or so of the 676,700 game is here:

Next, I need to start playing on MAME and practice with savestates to get the elevator screen completely dialed in, and to work on bottom hammer and barrel grouping for a run at a million. Iâ€™ll start a blog here soon to detail my progress.

During your 676k game, it's also noteworthy that you had 8 hammer smashes on the L16-2 pie factory (3 pies and 5 fireballs). I think you had a decent shot at 9, had you gone after that final pie just before the hammer expired. Good stuff!

I played in the early 80's when I was a kid, and I started playing again in August or September of last year when I found a good working arcade machine to play on. Since then I have played once or twice a week for usually 3-4 hours a session.
