I go with #2, sneak in a quick swig of beer. Now that I think about it, this could be the reason why my gameplay suffers as the evening proceeds :D

1. Calculate pace with standard deviation based on current score and expected value and variance of future levels. (works for everybody except Vincent)

I prefer to
1. Break my jump button while mashing it T&F style (anyone remember this?! Mark? Jeff? Robert? lol)
2. Analyze my previous board to see what I can do better/prepare for the next board
3. Calculate pace, realize it is too low, complain about how much I suck, get pissed, over press on the next board and therefore die stupidly
4. Sing (too loudly) or eat (too much)
5. Wish that I had the Staalboard for Mac! Instead, imitate Allen myself.

I assume we're talking the "falling monkey" moment?
1. Take a sip of green tea/coffee/Rip It energy
2. Look at the chat
3. Frantically claw at my smartphone in a futile attempt to execute the 30 swipes and taps necessary to set up the next thing I want to listen to in my headphones, almost get there, and then plan to finish when I've cleared the barrel screen
4. Reposition my butt and/or legs because something will probably be falling asleep due to the awful ergonomics of my seating arrangement
5. Fantasize about peeing and wish that there was time

In order, from most to least common:
- Mentally add the bonus timer to my current score, wait for the actual update, and compare the values. Once out of every 50 times, I'm off by 1000 points.
- Reach for whatever beverage is on the table beside me.
- Watch the animation, hoping it will be the one-in-a-million that's completely different. I'd like to see something with a Wile E. Coyote theme. Kong falls from the top girder, lands on his head, and crumbles into a mound of tiny pieces. Two hands emerge from the pile of rubble, neatly sweeping the debris into a dustpan before scurrying off-screen on fingertips. Hasn't happened yet.
- Reflect on an avoidable death that occurred 4 levels earlier.
- Think to myself, "What would ScumBum do?"

1. look away/take a breather.
2. curse allen under my breath
3. stretch my legs/hands
4. sip sizzurp (water)
