Hey I just wanted to say hello :)
21 year old guy from Sweden, saw the King of Kong movie and wanted to try out the game. Played a bit today and yesterday and got to 50'000 something. It will probably get very much harder soon but it's enjoyable to see yourself improve.
Any tips to a beginner?

Awesome to see another person try out DK! My number 1 tip: Watch other good players on www.twitch.tv (http://www.twitch.tv)! (there is a thread with all the stream here: https://donkeykongforum.net/index.php?topic=3.0 (https://donkeykongforum.net/index.php?topic=3.0)) You will improve much more quickly if you do your own playing while also absorbing tricks and skills from the masters!
Other than that, check around the forum a bit, there are several threads already started which may answer your questions. If you can't find something specific that you want/need to know, post it here and many people will be glad to help you out!
Good luck on your personal DK quest! It will be a long but hopefully very fun journey!

Like Mitch said, the only real tip we have to tell you is to watch other people play on Twitch. The more you watch, the more you will learn, therefore the learning curve will be easier!
Nice to see a new Donkey Kong player coming on the scene ;-).

Watch me on Twitch so you can see what not to do!

Welcome!
I'm in agreement with the others. Despite some of its technical shortcomings, that we all gripe about, Twitch TV is a valuable online resource. There is no substitute for watching, and listening to, other DK players.
Some channels will introduce you to strategies and tips that will help improve your game. Others will teach you to curse more creatively. Still others will accomplish both of those goals.
You'll discover which is which soon enough. ;)
