HI Folks :)
I've noticed its been a bit difficult for non DKF people to contact Sock so I've created an FB Fanpage for Remix :)
https://www.facebook.com/donkeykongremix/ (https://www.facebook.com/donkeykongremix/)
I would love for this thread to be a place for you to all give input for content ideas on the FB page :) also to post places you have found mentions of Remix or to post links of blogs or videos and reviews ^_^
Eventually if we add a website / blog / other social media I'll post it here as well!
I want to thank everyone who has been supporting remix - it really warms my heart seeing you all talk about it and patiently answer newbie questions in stream chat remix really would still be collecting dust as a Coco game if it wasn't for all of your support ^_^

So after some thought I figured a few fun things to post up on the FB page:
Milestone events for Highscore breakers and Killscreen acheivements
Video Highlights from users - impressive / funny / techniques or hellish things :P
Links to blogs and articles (They will start popping up eventually now that remix is starting to get out there)
FAQ and other important announcements
Keeping a score list with two categories perhaps Pro/ competitor and regular (newbies)
Still open to suggestions if anyone has any :)
And if you spot articles or blogs out there in the wilderness of the www share them here please!
Thanks a bunch

Wow since yesterday three things have hit the webs talking about Remix!
First was the amazing video / vlog was from the Canadian Arcade with the first review, How to install and gameplay video: Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1Y07-YMj5c (http://Https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1Y07-YMj5c)
This shortly after another how to install video was released: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H70N3ekaLNY (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H70N3ekaLNY)
And I just found an amazing blog that talks about remix and the importance of having physical hardware in todays digital world! Very cool and worth a read: http://www.8-bitcentral.com/blog/2016/dkRemix.html (http://www.8-bitcentral.com/blog/2016/dkRemix.html)

Interesting, he was able to switch from the D2K board *back* to Remix by holding Jump! It was my impression that this wasn't possible. Was it recently updated? Cool!

Yes, I've been trying to come up with a way to allow switching back because so many people seem to be using Remix with D2K. The newer boards that say 2016 instead of 2015 have the ability to switch back to Remix from D2K. Although he seems to be having some trouble... I hope it's simply because he wasn't holding the jump button long enough.
It was real tricky to implement because D2K it running it's own program code and we can only pull this off by using the microcontroller to snoop on D2K's operation.

That's pretty darn awesome. Oh boy, though, I don't even know what's going to happen now - That video already has over 2000 views... and I'm short on parts at the moment.

The guy who made the video in the previous post has made another video, but this time demonstrating the original Tandy Color Computer 3 version of Donkey Kong Remixed.
It's pretty interesting that he explains some of the differences between the original CoCo version and the later arcade version of Remix - no blue hammers, no bonus stages. You can see how much of a difference the lack of blue hammers makes. Not mentioned, but some of the game logic is also changed. If you pay close attention - the barrels falling down the center hole in the funnel/barrel-spring stage don't make the same left/right decisions.

I figured it would be a good and interesting idea to map where in the world Remix has gotten to and especially to track public arcades that have the game so people can go play!
Thus far i'm entering Public arcades, private and semi private arcades, private collectors and conventions Remix has made an appearence at!
I'm considering using the spreadsheet John has to input cities for private collectors (no names), please let me know if you feel this is a breach of confidential info on my part?
If you wish to be added let me know here or in a private message.
And please do tell if you know of an arcade with the came or a convention appearence I haven't heard of (its really hard to keep track of it all despite my best efforts with google searches)
Thanks once again everyone
This is very much a WIP
