Title: Wolfemame INP Submissions & Question
Post by: MRHELLBOX on May 03, 2020, 07:08:16 pm
Hey Pals,

So I've setup Wolfmame to save INP's but how do I get Mame to display the difficulty and setup at the start of each session? Additionally does it have to be windowed for submissions to count? I really enjoy the full-screen game-play.

Thanks in Advance!

You can look at all the DIPs and other settings by pressing TAB when the game is running. That will open the settings menu. There are no rules regarding windowed/full-screen (nor should there be). Play as you wish.

Thanks for the info! One last question - the .wlf file - Ive read a few older threads concerning the generation of this file in conjunction with the inp file, however when I record, it doesn't generate. I'm running mame 0.217 - Is there something in addition to the command prompt I need to enter to create the .wlf file? Thanks again!

WolfMAME creator Barry (mahlemiut) Rodewald implemented the .wlf file in WolfMAME .89 through .106. It's purpose was to record some of the parameters used in recording in order to facilitate successful playback. It may be that later MAME versions had fewer playback problems and he felt it wasn't necessary anymore.

DKF list submissions using WolfMAME .106 require the inclusion of the .wlf file.

Submissions that use MAME versions from the last 14 years cannot include a .wlf file. There's no such thing.
