I noticed this idea in another thread, but thought I'd give it a little bump here in hope for some more input. :)
I don't know other players here in the UK, so thought it would be great to have this score list (as well as other countries). It could also be a social thing in that you could reach out and see if others are local to you.
There's a brilliant place called Arcade Club in Leeds, so it would be cool to see if any members are around the area.

Hi man. Good to see someone else close by. You ever go to Arcade Club, either Bury or Leeds? I go to Leeds a few times a month, be sweet to meet up and have some games if you're up for it.
Moving back to the country based scores, what do you think admins? I'd be happy to organise and help with it.

Cheers for the reply. That's 3 of us in the list so far. Not sure how we find all the UK players from all the score entries unless people reach out to eachother and post here.
I went to Bury when it first opened, it was mind boggling! Their Leeds one is just as good but more confined in a newer building. I'm only 10mins away from it :-)

Country might be easier to add to http://kongtrackr.herokuapp.com/ rather than here at DKF since the scores are linked to actual profiles

I guess there may be players that would not give location since there are some that won't give name so, I think it's easy enough to follow but to have a separate board for countries, I think what Jerry does is more than enough, we can do that on our own if needed.

I'm South of England, just down the road from Stonehenge. Semi retired from DK but thinking about trying for a new PB in the not too distant future.

Honestly not sure Jojo, unlikely but it would depend when/where. If it's at Arcade Club then I won't be there.

Correct. A high score list for each country is still the idea. I was just thinking to speed up the process of collecting location data, some usernames/names are dotted on Google Maps that another member made a while ago. I'll try find the thread..

I think the most important thing here is the scores, so this proposition will probably go to the way side. I think after awhile everyone knows where everyone is.

I know us Aussies would have a field day with an AU-based score list. There's already a lot of friendly competition between us, so that would only bolster it!

I'm with fippi and as an Aussie I have been been playing the who's who in the high score list trying to understand where I would stand in an Aussie high score list.
I have been thinking of suggesting something simpler though which is adding a country flag icon after the players name in the high score list. A point of interest in the diversity of the community from around the globe.
Perhaps this concept could be expanded to include a filter to order by country as well as by score, this way there is no maintenance of multiple high score lists, but provides a view by country grouping.

That sounds like a good iea! It could be an option in your own bio that you can manually add, and the database could just pull from that field. Saves the admins a load of headache

SMF (the forum software) has an extension that allows this. Should be very straight forward to pull this from the database and into the high score list also (depending on how the high score list is being build currently). Happy to help with any dev work if needed
