Title: John McCurdy sets a new DK WR! 1,249,500!

Earlier today, live on-stream, Serphy passed the 1,247,700 Lakeman score and finished with a 1,249,500 killscreen!

Congrats to Serphy for an incredible achievement. It always seems like the next WR is something impossible, but John has taken the game to an even higher level. I've been saying for awhile that he's the best player out there right now. With a WR under his belt, I reckon he's the best ever.

There is a lot of cool stuff to unpack from the game stats, but here are some highlights:

-New full-game level average record: 64,418. This is the first game to break the 64k barrier. Serphy actually averaged 65,625 from Levels 10-21! Previous record, also by Serphy, was 63,565.
-New full-game pie average record: 9,253. Previous record, also by Serphy, was 9,182.
-70k levels: This game had three! And levels 11 and 12 were back-to-back 70ks!
-#3 full-game barrel average all-time with 13,049. Serphy is the only player to break the 13k barrier and he's done it 4 times now. He has 9 of the top 10 all-time barrel averages.
-#3 full-game spring average all-time with 7,782. Wes is the only other player to break 7,700 and Serphy has the top 7 all-time spring averages.
-This was Serphy's 12th (!) 1.2M game...and there have only been 18 1.2M games all-time.

Yeah completely amazing. I was holding my breath for ever. One hell of a game played right there. I remember him saying earlier in the game that he needed to throw this game away that it wasn't going anywhere. And BAM NEW WORLD RECORD

Yeah he was on his last man at 9-6 and averaged 65,500 to get the record. Insane...

Congrats, Serphy, it's an amazing achievement. Hopefully you can squeeze a few more points out of DK and keep pushing the record upwards.

Breaking the record during the KO has to rank up there with the Wes/Robbie same night WR games back in 2015 or Robbie breaking the WR at Funspot on the infamous KOK machine.  Awesome game, John!

There's still room.  I think he had 526k after level 10 with no lives left.  He had an absolutely horrible start.  There are games where people have 526k with no lives lost after level 10.  So I think 1.29 million at least is possible.

A well deserved score. No one has put the amount of work and time in at that high level as Serph. Months of 1,2xx,xxx scores waiting for the break. The scary thing is that this score is only a stepping stone to a break through game that will be pushing even higher.

This game is also probably the quickest to reach 1M, 1.1M, and 1.2M (in terms of distance, not time):

1M: 6400 on timer on 18-1
1.1M: Reached after finishing 19-4. Score on finish was 1,098,900 then 4300 bonus was added for 1,103,200.
1.2M: 7800 on the timer on 21-2.

Serphy was on his last life at all those points, so death points help in that sense. Maybe someday I'll make a list of 1-, 2-, 3-life fastest million, etc.
