Title: Avoiding barrel bombs?
Post by: naujoks on January 26, 2019, 12:15:45 am
Is there a strategy of avoiding getting hit in the face by a wild barrel as I climb up the top left ladder (girder 5, under the top hammer)?

Yes. It's a strategy known as Watching the Monkey. You wait near the ladder to see which barrel DK's going to release next. If it's a wild barrel, simply move out of its way. If it's not a wild barrel, you're good to take that short ladder up. Just be sure you have girder 5 at least mostly clear of barrels so none roll into you as you're trying to make your way up.

Interesting, I will try this. Often, at this critical junction, I feel I don't have the leisure to Watch The Monkey...
