Title: inverted colors on a DK board
Post by: The Sneaky Zebra on October 26, 2015, 10:08:52 pm
When I originally tested this board the colors were fine. However, when I went back a couple weeks later to install it the colors were inverted like in the picture. Anyone know what's going on? This is an original DK board in a DKJR cab. Thanks.

That, good sir, is an issue with the ROM at 3P on the Video board.

Make sure it is not dislodged or corroded. If it seems okay after you have physically checked it (you should probably take it out and reseat it just to be sure), you may need to either reflash or replace the chip.

Thanks. Do you have a visual of this chip? Having a hard time finding it. Thanks..

Fixed it. I took the boards apart and reconnected everything. Now it's working fine.

First make sure you're looking at the "VIDEO" board, and not the "CPU" board.

Horizontally across the bottom of the board, you'll see the numbers 1-7.

Vertically from top to bottom, you'll see the letters A-S.

Go down to "P" and over to "3."

The ROM chip you're looking for should have a sticker on it that says "3Pt". It will be next to capacitor 50 (C50). It's the one furthest down closest to the ribbon cables.

EDIT: Oh, OK, cool.  :)

My sticker was missing. I did push on that one though  ;)

Appreciate the quick help!
