I tried accessing my Twitch account and it wants me to update my password, the problem is it is linked to a now defunct email account. I have tried sending a message to Twitch but the same problem happens they want you to type in the email account that you originally registered to. In the message I asked them to please respond to my new email address, they have not responded, I feel as though I am in a catch 22 :(. Anyone have an idea, perhaps there is a way to talk to a human at Twitch.

This may be of some help: https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/2exzte/how_exactly_do_you_contact_twitch_support/?sort=confidence (https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/2exzte/how_exactly_do_you_contact_twitch_support/?sort=confidence)
I don't have time to read the whole thread right now, but it seems to describe your situation. Hope it helps.

Hey Rick,

might be your best bet to get a human response.

Thanks for the help guys; it was a hassle but I was eventually able to access my account. They make it extremely difficult for anyone to contact them, and my situation made it even worse. It took them 2 weeks to send me an email, which asked if I had tried resetting my password (duh!). I told them in the message I originally sent them, that I knew my password and the email I had registered with. I had to reply to the email they sent me and provide my IP address, and other details to verify my identity. The first time I tried this it was rejected. I read the email they sent me again carefully and realized I had to post my reply in a very specific way. Then I had to prove I was human, with their ridiculously slanted captchas. After another 2 weeks, I finally had access to my account again.
