The World Wide Web site Cyberscore has a list of the highest scores achieved by other players (my score is part of the list).

The highest that I have seen on this, not my personal score, is over 1.2 million points. That is the score to beat, if any one is interested. My highest is around 400K, not really trying though. I have too many projects going on at this time to be putting up scores on this platform.

Here is the video of the game in which the score you referenced was achieved:

(note: the player who achieved the score could not remember the level in which the score was achieved, since the level counter stopped at 9)

Have you worked out a plan for the barrel stage? That is the level that frightens me the most due to the wild barrels. I may play it a little in the future to get further in it, maybe beat the 1.2M. Not sure though, lots of projects. Let me know when you get into the 400K range. Once you do, I will try and beat it, give you a little competition maybe. Though I would recommend that we stream our games so that we can see that we are actually accomplishing the scores. :D After all, I manage the high score list, so I would recommend that we follow the list submission rules. Showing the Donkey Kong 64 start up as well so we know what we are looking at. Let me know if you are interested.

In case anyone is interested in competing on the N64 version. You need to get the Donkey Kong 64 game. You will need to play it until you can get to the Donkey Kong Arcade machine in the Factory level. Kong must have the ability to pull the large lever. You must play the game to level 2 to get the golden banana, and then you must play it again further to get the N64 coin. Then you will need to photo-graph at least 8 fairies and then you should be able to access the game to play through it on the mystery menu when you start up Donkey Kong 64.

I rarely loss in the barrels stage due to my plan for avoiding the barrels thrown or dropped by Donkey Kong. I often lost in the elevators stage, though, due to my timing of the jacks and my positioning just before climbing the last ladder (I lost my last life on level 10-3 after achieving 354,800 point and after achieving 350,100 points, which was my highest score previously). I believe I need to practice more on my timing and positioning in that stage for levels above four and remind myself to stay calm and patient before climbing the last ladder in that stage.

I have just scored 366,500 points after losing my last life to a blue barrel on level 11-1. The reason for my loss was because I took a chance guessing the blue barrel Donkey Kong dropped would stay to the left of the screen as I moved Mario up the ladder directly below him. I wish had I just gone with my instinct of moving Mario back immediately after seeing that blue barrel coming down instead of taking a chance on its moves. I still enjoyed the game, though, and understand that it's very unpredictable.

I have just achieved my latest high score of 431,700 points on level 12-3 (this was my first time on level 12-3). I would have finished with a higher score on a higher level without any extra lives if I had not misjudged a jack before getting the chance to climb the last ladder on stage 3.

Hi. You can get a 101% save for the US rom here. It's the actual save format for that game in emulators, so just toss it in your /Save folder (PJ64).

The DK option is in the game's Mystery menu, under "DK BONUS". Jetpac is there too.

Mario500, sorry, I am just noticing that you got into the 400k range. Great work. I will see if I can beat this some day.

I was able to achieve a total of 467,100 points in the game today until I lost my last life to a jack while near the top of the last ladder on level 13-3.

I had achieved my highest score of 500,800 points on level 14-3 before losing my last life in this level earlier this Friday (the quickness of the fireball between the elevators of this level made me nervous and lose concentration while attempting to jump onto one of the elevators going down).
