as some of you already know i streamed some ck today. i was pretty close to 800k pace at about the halfway point. 750k is probably not too far off depending on how much i play before spring. if i can execute the elevator strat jeff explained to me earlier it could add about 4k to my pace as well. love it? <YSG>

It's incredible how a lot of people (including me) thought CK was fkng dead forever at 685K, and then 700K happened, and now people are talking about 800K.

such amaze

it was last summer when i watched dean play a game of ck that convinced me 800k+ was possible. he went beastmode. i forget the actual end score or level(L12 or 13 maybe?). but i remember that it was over 800k pace

Phil, you need to add that strat of standing nearer to the broken ladder in the 4th girder. Missing leaching those barrels that go down on their own had to be ~500 points per barrel screen. If we want, it actually wouldn't be that hard to do a quick calculation to figure it out more specifically such that we can have something certain-ish with which to weigh opportunity costs.

Note to self:  Levy a $50 fine against Professor Elliott in Kangaroo Court, for attempting to turn a Crazy Kong forum topic into a lecture on microeconomic theory.   ;)

lol yer i just looked into standing closer to the ladder. for whatever reason trying to anticipate those barrels coming down by themselves throws off my internal clock as to when kong is going to release the next barrel. itll take some work but i think i can manage to correct that

<Tim> you got those roms hacked yet, nerdlinger?

lol @  <Tim>

Did it seem feasible? I can't remember all the scenarios where you'd need to steer barrels into a group on the 5th girder, but I'm sure it can be learned. Maybe just standing jumps while holding left if you need to steer, but holding right if you don't want to steer (?). Nice to see you back at the CK, btw.  :)

yer jump-steering doesnt work in crazy kong or japan sets, though. ill figure out the timing and if its worth it. if i start missing any groups due to leeching the barrel it would end up costing me.

oh yer ck hype. btw there is a mary soundboard floating around. looks like the link is still in shoutbox for the time being if you scroll up Kappa

<Tim> and then when a mud puddle dries up this summer theyll say thats global warming too

had a good game earlier tonight that ended on 22-2(skipped the kill screen) with a final score of 719,700. i ended up getting timed out on the pie factory. it looks like each board after the KS skip still has a limited amount of time to complete. i lost a ton of pace throughout the game as well since i decided to use less barrel skips. the score is up on MARP if anyone is interested. ill stream at some point this weekend to see if i can top it. yer buddyyyy

wow nice, Congrats Phil!
Out of interest what happens when you skip on lvl 22?
do you get another full lvl to complete or does it continue indefinitely?  ex: lvl 23/24/25......

The kill screen timer 12 sec I think but could be wrong but I'll run with that now, Is on all lvl 22 boards. You can skip the barrels, you can get a good pie factory and make it, apparently the springs are slower on the next level so it's easily passed. And on the rivets there just isn't enough time to pull all the rivets out.

thanks, adam!

yer it stops at 22-4. it looks like 22-2, 22-3, and 22-4 all share about the same bonus as the kill screen. barrel, pies, and elevators give you enough time to clear them if youre fast enough, but the rivets dont. its best to immediately run up and grab the left rivet hammer in hopes of some good spawns. hopefully ill get that chance next run

My estimates are that the hacked ROMs will be ready by the end of May.
