Since the 25th I decided to go after a killscreen in Donkey Kong again. I really thought I had a decent shot my last time out. I had three men going into level 16. Then as it always does I just fall apart. I've been broadcasting live on the Kongclub on Facebook. No annoying commercials for one, which is cool. :)
I've been grinding pretty hard though, and have kept track of my top ten scores since I decided to go after an 890k killscreen. Here is my high score list.
Top 10 Donkey Kong scores
741,700 1/27/18
715,000 1/29/18
660,900 1/25/18
654,500 1/28/18
542,200 1/28/18
512,600 1/28/18
475,200 1/27/18
448,900 1/29/18
417,600 1/27/18
380,900 1/26/18

What significance does 890 have? Top hammers and... mediocre vator? Just not sure what the significance of 890 is - not trying to be an ass.

What if you are on pace for 910k? Will you dial it back?

Right now I'm 78th. If I don't do something I'll probably be out of the top 100 within 5 years. 890k will put me in 62nd place. It'll buy a three or four extra years in the top 100.
I double hammer the 5th level to be above pace every game. Almost every game I maintain pace. I don't really try to force the pace except for level 5. I do level 5 because I feel it's easier to do double hammer on the 5th level than to double hammer the lower levels which have wild barrels. I guess if I am above pace by 20k I would be more careful on the piefactory. Only going up when I know it's absolutely safe. Also I probably would try to be more patient with the elevator section.

Oh OK, so it's driven by placement on the high score list. Makes sense now.
Thanks, and good luck!

I have realized I have no problem keeping up with pace later in levels, and so I am lowering the requirement for double hammers to scores I get that are less than 100,000 point after level 4. Unfortunately I am in a slump as of late. It's a combo of running into bad luck, or just finding the craziest ways to die. Like not knowing that if a fireball is about to go down the ladder that if you go up on top it cancels out the fireballs path down the ladder. That time the fireball reverted to going after me, and killing me quickly.

Well I changed things up. Now I'm going for an 885k killscreen. That way I can be on pace, even if I have a 95k score entering level 5. This will eliminate almost all need for double hammers. Also I've gotten more strict with my starts. Before I needed all men entering level 4 and 3 men entering level 3. I still have to do that, but now I require that I have at least 2 men entering level 6. Today I had a pretty good game. Got to 755,600. Also got to 475,400 on my first guy. So if you can get past the half killscreen on the first guy like I did, than you should be able to get to a killscreen. It's only a matter of time now. Also here is my top 10 scores since I started my killscreen quest again. My 10thplace score is pretty high now. :)
755,600 2/27/18
741,700 1/27/18
715,000 1/29/18
660,900 1/25/18
657,500 2/22/18
654,500 1/28/18
606,100 2/23/18
598,000 2/9/18
560,300 2/20/18
546,600 2/18/18
