After a 35-hour marathon session at the Kencade, Bill reached a score of 61,548,785, with the game resetting on a 0X board. There's no video archive right now, but you can see the last moments in a clip here (https://clips.twitch.tv/ConsiderateEnjoyablePeafowlTebowing).
This puts Bill at #6 all-time. Congrats, sir!

Awesome stuff. 2004 to 2017 attempts. I can be done and happy with 6th place. Closing this door and trying something else. Thanks for kind words in the chat.
Thank you's for Ken House and John McAllister.
If you're near the north west and plan to chase a decent score, let Ken know.
Ken set me up with the game, Adjustments, filming, advice, help... Everything.
You know, this is where the Asteroids record was broken in 2010 ?!!
Johnny Mac. Not only discovered the bug and answer/workaround, he then wrote the program to allow me to manually record my actions. Ross Vondump said it best. I had to play two games at once.
Thank you Johnny!!! Thank you Ken!!!
6th place all time. Woot woot.

Great game Bill!! sorry to hear about the reset.
I saw your city count was at 197 and you got another 54 on the 0x board putting you around 251. Is that what triggered it? I remember something about some range of cities right below 256 was the dead zone. (251-256?)

I posted about this and enjoyed watching much of it. Big congrats to you Bill!! LIT!

61 million is a huge score. I admire the dedication of Bill through all these years. The ability to keep getting up after getting knocked down is truly inspiring.

I think the range of bad numbers is between 253 and 3, or 256 +/- 3, but would need someone to verify that.
Bill's game reset when he ran into that range after a 0x board. The 810K 176 extra city bug awards all the extras instantaneously, so the city count can roll over 256 at that point, and this is key in managing city count throughout a marathon. The 0x scoring bonanza does not award all the cities instantaneously, the game just dishes out loads of points then tallies up the earned cities at board's end as usual. Bill had just earned an 810K bonus without rolling over 256 a few boards before going into the 0x boards, so his city count was way too high. He probably would have survived if he simply didn't play the first 0x board, as he wouldn't have earned enough extra cities to push him into the death range. As it were, he dominated too hard and the game broke.

Thanks Ross....yeah that's just bad luck to fall right in that range if that's what happened.
