I swear I am almost completely off the edge when I jump for that stupid top hammer, and I still can't at times make it back on top. Do I hold a directional, or is there some other thing I am missing with this?

J/K but are you talking about the barrel board??? I noticed if the screen on the cab is a little squished you feel like you are off the edge but just stand on the edge and jump up.... :D

Do it as a wall jump. Jump to it, you'll grab and bounce back. No problem. Unless you meant Crazy Kong, in which case I have zero idea.

There is only one pixel you can jump from to grab the top hammer. It's possible to stand on the correct pixel, but mistime the jump so you actually move another pixel forward before beginning the jump. Here's what it looks like to stand on the correct pixel in every possible pose. Note how in the neutral standing poses Jumpman is actually touching the girder, whereas he's normally a pixel above the girder when moving around.

DOH this is CK forum my bad. Yeah I think its the same as doing the level skip trick. You have to be in the exact right spot or else death! :D
