I think it's a combination of many things, which I won't get into. I will however say that there are a lot of other places besides CAG now N' days to chat on the forums. Maybe in the past there were just a couple of places to go and chat and now there are many to choose from which may water it down a bit? And Mark may have rubbed some people the wrong way in the past as well. There is still a TON of old but good info on CAG if you wanted to research stuff and read about it.

I think you answered the 2nd question with the first question. His forum fosters exclusion whereas DKF breeds inclusion by virtue of both its ease of registration (in most cases) and its welcoming/positive members. Just look at any first post by anyone on here and check out the red carpet reception they get. Everyone here is excited when new members join, <Pigger> dissuades new membership.

My two requests for membership were also ignored (for my own protection <Pigger>).
Though it has only been about a half-decade, so maybe he's just been busy with taxes and phone calls and updating the news.

When I signed up about 6 years ago there was a lot of activity on that forum. There's barely any conversation on that forum anymore - someone will post and nobody responds. Which is why I signed up here to talk about arcade gaming.

You've come to the right place. This site is very active, new posts pretty much daily (often many posts) shoutbox is always active and talk is about all video games, not just DK. Some of the best players at a lot of games, and almost all willing to discuss games and share strats.
