Hello everyone

Player of almost 30 years, I discovered the arcade at the age of 10 years thanks to my big brother to take me in secret at the time! (my parents being against ...)

At that time, my favorite game is Mario Bros.

I'll spend countless hours on it ... (neglecting the rest of the way across ...)

A few years later, all the arcades in my area are closing one after the other ... This is the beginning of the end ...

In France, the arcade is not as exploited at Japan or America, the community goes out gradually, leaving room for consoles and handheld ... and me with it ...

In recent years, the "retrogaming" found a special place in the hearts of the players, (I think more a fad, but it is my personal opinion ...)

And arcade games back to the front of the scene!

Unfortunately for me, the old songs of the 80s are totally forgotten here ...

No Francophone community is me forward the best score on games like Donkey Kong, Mario Bros. and more ...

I see myself obliged (and a lot of fun) to join a foreign community to continue to share my passion.

I mainly play Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr. and Mario Bros with a real arcade cabinet.

I also have the great desire (childhood dream) to get my own arcade cabinet.

The community appears to be very open and nice here, I will not hesitate to update my blog as often as possible.

Today, I wanted to live Donkey Kong, my current score is 8780 pts. (this morning alone in my corner)

During my live this afternoon, the concentration is lower and I had a lot more difficult to play than alone.

Since yesterday, I have not stopped playing Donkey Kong ...

This game has something extremely addictive, much like a magnet !

So I also decide to throw myself body and soul in scoring on DK.

My post presentation has been updated, i have to insert a "table" that lists my advancement in each game.

Donkey Kong is a patience game, i learned at my expense today...

My score increases gradually and hopefully get to 50K by the end of next week.

Agh the conveyers or that fking pie factory as a lot of us like to call it.
That level is a pain in the ass to most of the people on this forum. Sometimes it's really easy other times it's a righty pain in the but.
My advice would be wait till the first fireball is out, do a little juke just like Allen :)   Then pray for some nice fireballs

That's the ideal path you want to follow after allowing the fireballs to spawn. Sometimes the fireballs are jerks and rush down the ladders making things more difficult.

This is probably more information than you would want, but it's pretty much ALL here^

there are some videos on youtube as well that explain general strategies, but at the end of the day you will just need to become comfortable with really fast recognition and interpretation (for the "trailing" spring).  I use the location where the spring first lands to determine its' "length";  There is a nice .gif in the spring theory thread that shows each of the 16 possible springs, and where they land.

Today, i really dosed the game to see my early potential.

I have tamed the first stage. For cons, the second is much tougher to me... I have a feeling of being constantly harassed by enemies on the screen !

I do not even speak of a third, which i just did not manage to finish...

You know there are ways to get 100k without passing the 3rd elevator stage.  I actually got 106k before I got past that stage.  I used the 3rd level rivets, and got as many points as possible, and then sacrificing each of the 3 extra man I had that way.  I then would take the last guy all the way to the elevator stage before dying.

Not really a great end-game strategy though is it?

Keep going good, Evunz. Practice, practice, practice that 3rd elevator and your scores will sky-rocket in no time!

Hey guys !

What's up ?

Have been a lot of changes in my life (good and bad) but i'm coming back among you at the end of the year.

I'm seriously coming back to Donkey Kong.

I received my arcade cabinet during chrismas day and plan to continue my ascent live on twitch several times a week.
